The 2019 Subaru Love Promise Customer Commitment Award

What is the Subaru Love Promise?

Subaru and our retailers believe in making the world a better place and the Subaru Love Promise is our vision of respecting all people. This is our commitment to show love and respect to our customers and to work to make a positive impact in the world.

The Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment

We believe in being a positive force in something bigger. And it all starts right here in our community. Not just by our donations, but by our actions.

That's why we stay true to our Love Promise Community Commitment by partnering with a wide variety of community nonprofits and charities.

Every year, we join hands with our owners in the "Share the Love" event, giving back to our community-a community that's given so much to us.

So, every day, we strive to ensure our love is felt not just by our customers, but by all in our community. We do this because we feel it is the right thing to do.

We are proud to participate in the Love Promise Community Commitment. We're grateful, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve and support the causes and passions that are closest to our hearts, right here in our neighborhood.

All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.

#SubaruLovesToCare with LLS + Sanford Health  –  Celeste L

On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, as part of the national Subaru Loves to Care program, Kupper Subaru worked with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to deliver blankets, cards of hope, and arts and crafts kits to patients at Sanford Health in Bismarck, North Dakota. Whitney Muscha, as well as several employees of the Kupper Dealership, came to represent Subaru. They lit up the room when they brought in the gifts and patients expressed gratitude for their show of support. Kimberly Bloms, a patient at Sanford, accepted a blanket on behalf of Bismarck patients. Bloms was diagnosed with an aggressive type of acute myeloid leukemia in July 2016 at just 36 years old. She underwent three rounds of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant. That time was filled with ups and downs. Her cancer caused her to lose her vision, and she saw the impact of her diagnosis on her parents and husband, Adam. However, about a year and a half after her transplant, Bloms is thriving. She still struggles to see out of her left eye, but she's back to work and continues to cherish all the people who supported her throughout her treatment. "I came out stronger, and I want to continue paying forward that kindness," Bloms said. Bloms was happy to be involved with Kupper Subaru and donating blankets to Sanford Bismarck patients actively receiving treatment. Kimberly knows the strong impact this gesture can have. During her time in the hospital, a simple blanket reminded her she was not alone in her fight against leukemia. It kept her warm through each chemotherapy treatment and comforted her during nights in the hospital. The woven fibers symbolized the strong community of supporters by her side. Bloms says, "These blankets will remind other cancer patients of the things they fight for."

Donated IV poles bring fun to cancer patients  –  Kay T

Up close, the colorful platforms painted to look like a racetrack, an underwater adventure and a Tinker Bell fairyland look more like something you would find on the playground than in a cancer unit. With four wheels on the bottom, the platforms — or lily pads as they are more commonly known — help young cancer patients take their treatment on the go. They can sit and ride down the hall or to the nearest playroom. Earlier this year, Kupper Subaru donated six custom platforms through the Sanford Health Foundation to Sanford Children's patients in Bismarck. They are the first of their kind at the hospital. Employees from Kupper Subaru custom created the stands and took extra time to design and paint themes the children would enjoy. Some treatment sessions can last up to six hours, a long time to stay still for a young patient. These platforms connect to the patient’s IV poles to give them more mobility, said Nicole Christian, a nurse manager at Sanford Children's. “It certainly brightens their spirits, getting out of their room and being able to ride instead of walking along the IV pole," Christian said. "That always brings smiles when they can take a ride." Thank you to Kupper Subaru for your generosity!

Subaru Loves to Care  –  Teri C

Thanks to Kupper Subaru for going above and beyond! June was Subaru Loves to Care month so customers visiting the Mandan retailer had the chance to sign cards all month before they are delivered to cancer patients at Sanford Cancer Center along with blankets and kids craft kits. Kupper went the extra mile ... or extra 5k... by sponsoring the Relentless Against Blood Cancer 5K June 10. Most of the 300+ runners - many with connections to blood cancer - stopped by the Kupper table at the finish line to write an inspirational message of hope.

Kupper Subaru delivers blankets to Sanford Health  –  Shannon B

Theresa Addison, LLS Ambassador from Bismarck, accepted 60 donated blankets from Kupper Subaru on behalf of cancer patients currently being treated at Sanford Health on June 29, 2016. Theresa describes her family as very close-knit. So when her uncle Marcus, who lived a block away from her family’s home, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, she and her family did everything they could to support him. Marcus’s cancer was at stage four when he was diagnosed in 2009, which forced him to quit his job immediately and focus on his treatment. As a single dad with a 13-year-old-daughter, this made things hard. When Marcus passed away a year after his diagnosis, Theresa instantly got involved with the LLS Team In Training (TNT) program to run a half marathon and honor her uncle’s memory. She’s now raised over $30,000 for patient services and blood cancer research. The Kupper Subaru dealership really got behind this Subaru Loves to Care program as Viva Lauinger said, “We were super happy to be involved! Our guests, staff & family all helped write cards at our dealership & they were displayed in our showroom before we brought them to Sanford.” And Sanford was deeply touched on the receiving end. Erin Green stated, “The presentation yesterday was amazing! Thank you all for helping take care of those in our community and giving them the little lift they may need while battling cancer, there are no words. THANK YOU!”

Thank you from Central Dakota Humane Society  –  Mandy S

Thank you Kupper Subaru for being in our corner. You have made a huge difference to our organization with your generosity and your "Share the Love" promotion. The dollars you raise for our shelter are needed to help us to accomplish our mission of adopting cats and dogs into their forever homes. Your dollars help tremendously on the front-end to keep our animals fed, healthy and socialized so they can be placed with the right families. Thank you from all of us!! Bacardi is an example of the good works you help us do. Bacardi (now known as Bubba Blue), was found as a stray with a serious case of demodex mange, ticks and was underweight. She had been on her own for about a year from our estimations. We treated her condition and she has been re-homed into a loving family and is a happy, healthy, playful bundle of love!!! Before and after pictures attached.

Medieval Rush  –  Christian V

Each summer, Kupper Subaru is the title sponsor of "Medieval Rush" an all-terrain run that tests participants' guts, glory, honor and medievalism. Through this partnership, Medieval Rush is then able to donate to multiple nonprofit and charitable organizations in the community such as Military Ovation and the Abused Adult Resource Center. It's a perfect fit for us at Kupper Subaru and we love the chance to give back and show our medieval side!

Puparazzi  –  Christian V

In 2014, Kupper Subaru started a fun, new event called "Puparazzi" as part of our local "Share the Love" promotion. Current customers, as well as community animal-lovers, were invited to visit our dealership to get their family holiday photo taken in the back of a Subaru, complete with holiday props! The Central Dakota Humane Society, a cause very close to us, was present with adoptable dogs and volunteers to talk about their organization and how everyone can help their animals find their "forever" homes. We received national online coverage from this event through an interview with did with and are excited for next year's event, where we can celebrate the holidays and raise a little money for the CDHS.

Customer & Military Appreciation Event  –  Christian V

Every year, we partner with the other dealerships in our Kupper Automotive family and host a Customer & Military Appreciation Event & Car show- a time for our "family" to get with you and your family and do something for our community. Each year, we give 100% of the proceeds to the Military Emergency Relief Fund. All customers, past, present and future, are invited to join us for free food and a fabulous car show, all to get connected and to give back to a community we love so much.
